Quality Training
Continental Kennels was founded in 2013 with the goal of producing the finest retrievers available. Jon immediately began training his Lab for duck hunting. "I instantly fell in love with training and hunt tests and began to study any training material I could get my hands on. Over the years I've had the privilege of working for and with some of the best retriever trainers in the country."
We are located in Central Arkansas with easy access to thousands of acres of various fields - hay, corn, soybeans, along with multiple ponds, creeks, and marshes. The variety of terrain we can expose the dogs to allows us to make sure they're ready for all hunting and testing scenarios.
We regularly compete in HRC and AKC hunt tests during the spring, summer, and fall. We run every level of test - Started/Junior, Seasoned/Senior, Finished/Master, International Grand/Master National.
Training Philosophy
We keep our training roster small in order to make sure each and every dog gets the personal attention they deserve. We understand that every dog learns in their own way and at their own speed, our job is to adapt to best serve the dog.
Breeding Philosophy
We take great pride in breeding for the betterment of the Labrador breed. We strive to produce great hunting dogs that are also wonderful members of their new families. Potential breeding females are evaluated for health clearances and temperament to ensure a good match.
